Hello founding CJS members and welcome!!
Thank you all so much for attending Sunday’s very first CJS meeting. We’re super excited to hit the ground running!
This is going to be a long email, but we would really appreciate it if you could read it in its entirety. There’s a lot of important information here!
In summary we discussed:
- The short and long term goals of the organization
- Future meeting format
- Fight for the Lincoln Annex
CJS aims to bring people in Middlesex, Somerset, Mercer, Monmouth, Hunterdon, and Union counties together in order to fight for workers and their rights. We intend to do this by organizing, not only in the workplace, but also as tenants and in other aspects of our lives that are made more difficult because of Capitalism.
Things to do:
- Join the CJS Facebook Group (Nishad is inviting everyone since its private, if you don’t get an invitation, please let us know) Trina will be posting upcoming events/actions being held in our area
- Create a Discord account(you can join our server at https://discord.gg/xzwH2b)
- Download the Signal app
- Jot down a couple questions/comments for David’s presentation next week (see below)
- Review Lincoln Annex resources (Lindsay will send out in the next several days after she touches base with Charlie)
For our next meeting (Sunday, June 28th @ 8pm, same location):
- David will be presenting ‘What is Capital’
- We’ll discuss upcoming action items for Lincoln annex
- Review upcoming BLM protests/actions
Please note that for our next meeting, there will be no use of phones or computers, we do however encourage you to bring a notebook and take notes!
